Born from a dream to create something that could instantly uplift someone’s style and spirit, Hathaway Scarves was never just about ‘fashion. I wanted to wrap people in beauty, emotion, and connection. Something that feels like an uplifting, stylish hug on a day you need a boost — or that extra slice of fabulous to elevate your outfit.

To bring that dream to life, I turned to the most heartfelt inspiration I know — my mum’s artwork.

HATHAWAY, ‘a mother daughter project’, is a beautiful story of a creative collaboration between a mother and her two daughters.

At Hathaway, each scarf is more than an accessory — it’s a feeling. A moment of elegance, a lift in spirit, a quiet expression of joy.

Hathaway Scarves was born from a desire to create something lasting — a piece that could instantly elevate both style and mood. These scarves are designed to be that subtle shift: a sophisticated finishing touch on a good day, or an uplifting, luxurious embrace on the days you need it most.

To bring this vision to life, I turned to the most meaningful inspiration I know — my mother’s artwork.

Based in London, I launched the brand with a series of original botanical illustrations she had painted and drawn over the years. Mum paints and draws purely for the joy of it — not to sell, not for recognition, just because she loves it. And I think there’s an extra kind of beauty in that.

Her work is rich in colour, intricate in detail, and filled with the organic elegance of the natural world. It’s this emotional and artistic depth that I’ve sought to preserve in every design.

Our scarves are crafted in Como, Italy, by a small, family-run atelier known for its exquisite craftsmanship and commitment to sustainability. We use the finest silks and natural textiles — chosen not only for their beauty and feel, but also for their ability to honour the art they carry.

To wear a Hathaway scarf is to wear a story. A piece of art. A connection — to nature, to meaning, and to the care with which it was made. These are not mass-produced items; they are timeless, limited-edition pieces created to be worn, cherished, and passed on.

For me, style has always been a way to lift people up — to reflect their beauty, their confidence, and the joy they bring to the world. Creating these scarves feels like a natural extension of that purpose. Whether you wear yours daily or save it for special occasions, I hope it brings you the same feeling it brings me: quiet confidence, beauty with heart, and a sense of being wonderfully, undeniably you.

Warmly, Sera Hathaway Founder, Hathaway Scarves

Celebrating Artisans

Each HATHAWAY piece has a story behind it. From the creativity and design to the fabric and production, each scarf is made for lifelong enjoyment and use.

You inspire us to give back and support other artisans, so a large part of HATHAWAY moving forward will focus on showing the creative process behind our garments and scarves. We will show you behind the scenes and introduce you to each person that plays a part in the creation of each HATHAWAY piece.
