“Born from the desire to create something that could instantly uplift someone’s style and spirit, Hathaway Scarves was never just about ‘fashion’ - I wanted to wrap people in beauty, emotion, and connection. Something that feels like an uplifting, stylish hug on a day you need a boost — or that extra slice of fabulous to elevate your outfit.
To bring that dream to life, I turned to the most heartfelt inspiration I know — my mum’s artwork. ”
HATHAWAY, ‘a mother daughter project’, is a beautiful story of a creative collaboration between a mother and her two daughters.
About Hathaway
HATHAWAY is a mother–daughter collaboration, born from a shared love of style, nature, and craft.
The story begins with Lyn Hathaway, a botanical artist whose paintings capture the delicate beauty and wonder of the natural world. Lyn paints for the joy of it — from detailed botanical studies to bold expressive works — and some of these artworks, painted years ago, now form the timeless designs of our scarves. Her daughter, Sera, a London-based designer, transforms these artworks into unique patterns, sometimes blending pieces together to create entirely new designs. Sera’s sister, Louise, a creative and tech-savvy spirit, supports the design process and manages the website.
Every scarf is crafted in very limited runs by family-run ateliers in Italy, using only the finest silks and natural fabrics. After extensive visits to printing houses and silk artisans, our scarves are now produced in a small, family-run atelier in Como, Italy. Founded in 1960 and now run by the next generation, the atelier is committed to sustainability, operates on solar power, and shares our passion for preserving artisanal craft. Future collections will include plant-based textiles, extending our commitment to conscious, ethical fashion.
HATHAWAY is led by the belief that beauty lies not only in how something looks but in how it makes you feel. Every scarf is designed to bring a moment of joy, a sense of connection, and a touch of artistry into your everyday life.
To wear a HATHAWAY scarf is to carry a story — of artistry, love, and connection.

“From a young I have created, it was never just a hobby for me—it was a way of communicating. I speak through my creations, using them to uplift others and bring joy into their lives. Handmade gifts for friends and family became my way of expressing love and care, an unspoken language that resonated with me far more than words.
From handmade trinkets to thoughtful garments, each item was a reflection of my desire to connect and make someone feel special - That same spirit lives on in every HATHAWAY scarf, woven with the same intention: to carry love, beauty, and meaning.
After completing a degree in Fashion and Design and working in various clothing boutiques, I went on to spend 10 years owning and running a designer retail boutique — what a ride at such a young age! After selling the boutique and stepping away from retail, I felt called to create something that aligned more deeply with my purpose. Through years of listening to my customers, and reflecting on my own relationship with clothing, I came to realise that my love was to create, my purpose was to uplift. I wanted to create something that could be worn by all shapes and sizes, styled in many ways, and carried a sense of connection, story, and meaning — a piece to be cherished for a lifetime. In short, All of this combined led to HATHAWAY.

Working in unison with artisans coinciding with our strong ethical standards, all pieces will be of the highest quality and crafted with the utmost care. Our products are made to withstand the test of time so that they may be treasured for years to come.
We will not only stand behind our quality collection, but support our talented artisans that continue to stay true to their dedication to support and align with our ethical mission and moral standards.
Celebrating Artisans
Each HATHAWAY piece has a story behind it. From the creativity and design to the fabric and production, each scarf is made for lifelong enjoyment and use.
You inspire us to give back and support other artisans, so a large part of HATHAWAY moving forward will focus on showing the creative process behind our garments and scarves. We will show you behind the scenes and introduce you to each person that plays a part in the creation of each HATHAWAY piece.
Behind the Scenes
From sneak-peaks of the design process, to garment pattern making, garment creation, fabric printing, visits to our fabric suppliers and so much more, let us be your eyes along the way. We’re excited for you to meet all the talented individuals involved in each HATHAWAY creation. The more you see and experience through us, the more you’ll understand and better appreciate your scarf or garment; knowing the steps your fabric took to make it to your home.
The Hathaway Difference
We love to work with smaller, independent, family-run companies and individuals to allow for each piece to have the attention it deserves.
